VBS will be July 8th thru July 13th. VBS Commencement will be on Friday night, July 13th.
Since VBS is coming up soon, the food team will be needing to plan the menu for VBS and buy the food. As in previous years, we are planning to prepare substantial refreshments to help the teachers and staff who do not have time to prepare an evening meal before they come to VBS each night. Last year we had 240 plus people to feed each night. The cost of food for the week was approximately $800. If you could help with the expense this year, please give your money donations to Jane Yates or Ann Holder by today. Thanks
All VBS crafts workers will meet today at 5:30 pm in the fellowship building You will see what we are making this year and be asked to help get some things ready in advance. We will also plan our decorations.
Rock Springs Baptist Church is sponsoring a Co-Ed church soccer league this fall. The season begins September 4, 2007. We need students to sign up in the following age categories: 4 and 5 year olds, 6 to 8 year olds, 9 to 12 year olds, and 13 to 18 year olds. The age divisions could change depending on the number of participants. We also need adult volunteers to coach in each of the above categories. No experience required for students or adults. It is time to start praying about our 2007 Mexico Mission trip. We leave Thursday night around 10 pm on November 1st and return Sunday, November 11th. Ask God if he wants you to go. Sign-up sheet is on the table in the vestibule.
Dorcas Group will be meeting in the Flora Garrett Sunday School Classroom at 4:30 pm on July 9th.
Quarterly Sunday School Fellowship and Church Council will meet on July 15th.
The second study of Men’s Fraternity: “The Great Adventure†is a 20 week study designed to help men understand their true identity and to guide them to break free from the bondage of boredom to embark on the adventure of their lives. The cost of the Viewers Guide is $10. The church will purchase the DVD’s. Some have expressed an interest in meeting on Sunday nights at 6 pm. The starting date is October 7th. Sign-up sheet is in the vestibule.
AED machine is located in the Young Married Classroom at the end of the hall past the pastor’s study. We want to say thanks to everyone who helped pay for this valuable machine. Hopefully, we will never need it but if someone has a heart attack, it will be a blessing to have. The medical equipment has been relocated to this area also, and we will be taking blood pressures there. Sincerely, The Medical Team
On Sunday morning, July 15th, we will be receiving a special love offering for three families who are in need and are members of our church. Please pray and give in support of these families. God truly blesses those who give.
