Bulletin: Week of June 6, 2009

Sunday, June 7th, 2009

We will receive our regular walk offering for the building fund this morning. If you are visiting, you are not expected to participate.

 

The parents of the students going to Camp Marietta need to meet with Crystal Bagwell after both morning services.

 

Deacon meeting today at 5 pm.

 

Staff Recognition Team meets at 5 pm.

 

There will be a meeting of everyone going on the mission trip and, at least, one parent of the students today at 5:30 pm in the fellowship building. This is the final meeting before leaving for Hazel Green, KY on June 13th. The ones working on the field will have their regular meeting at 6 pm today as well. Also in the evening service, there will be a commissioning service.

Remember June 12 at 7:00, we will pack our luggage, sleeping bags, etc. Please remember you are expected to help with all the packing. You will need to be at the church on Saturday morning by 7:00 am with you carry-on bags. We will have breakfast together, have a group picture and off to Hazel Green by 8:00 am.

 

Perishable food items for mission trip need to be brought by Wednesday, June 10. Money donations may be given to Ginger or Janie.

 

Students going to Centrifuge (July 6-10), your money is due today. See Austin.

 

Tomorrow, June 8th the youth meets at the church at 8:15 and breakfast will be provided. We will be going to the Greenville Zoo. Students will need money for lunch, will return at 2:30 pm.

 

Youth, including rising 7th graders, remember our trip to Carowinds on August 6th. $20 due July 19th.

 

We received $794.76 for our Frances Eller Offering for Associational Missions. Thank you for giving so others can be saved.

Tomorrow, the College and Careers and graduating seniors will be meeting at Frankie’s Fun Park in Greenville at 6:30 pm.

If you would like to help the mission team collect socks and canned fruit for Hazel Green and Jackson, KY, you may do so by putting these items in the box at the front of the church. Today is the last day to bring these items.

 

We have received $1,316.17 toward our $3500 goal to build our ninth church in Mexico. If God is leading you to be a part of this trip, there is a sign up sheet in the vestibule. Passport is required. The dates are:-leave November 5th at 10 pm and return Sunday, November 15th after 6 pm.

 

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the YMCA, Piedmont Baptist Association and First Baptist Church, Easley are sponsoring jointly a BASKETBALL CAMP FOR rising third through rising eighth graders from July 27 to July 30. The camp will run from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm each day. We will meet each day at the Larry Bagwell Complex in Easley. There are application forms on the table in the vestibule if you are interested in the basketball camp. Can access application form at www.efbc.org. The camp is free. Questions? Call 859-4052.

We will be receiving our Frances Eller Offering for Associational Missions this morning. If you are visiting, you are not expected to participate. Our church goal is $600.

 

Liberty High School Baccalaureate Service will be tonight at 6 pm at Liberty Middle School. The speaker will be World Champion Weight Lifter, Brad Kelly. The music will be presented by the Praise Band from Fellowship Community Church. The Gideons will present New Testaments.

Everyone going on the mission trip that will be doing work on the ball field needs to be at the meeting tonight at 6 pm in the fellowship hall. We will be taking the students to the Norris field for some basketball stuff.

 

We will receive a love offering after the evening service for Rick Strickland.

 

Brotherhood meeting tomorrow evening at 7:00 pm. Men and their wives are invited. You may bring your children. Please sign up in the vestibule.

 

RISING TO BUILD PRAYER WALKS: May 26th; Kat Albertson will be praying at 1:00 pm.

 

The Zeigler’s will provide snacks and drinks for youth, Wednesday night, May 27.

May 30th, AWANA Teacher/Worker Appreciation Supper at Just More BBQ at 6 pm Please sign up in the vestibule if you plan to attend. The youth workers will be included in attending this supper also.

Your 2009-2010 Nominating Team is: Sunday School Director-Billy Lewis, Discipleship Training-Larry Henderson, Meryl O’Donald, Pat Gilstrap and Deanna Braswell. This team will need to meet today at 5 pm in the Spares and Pairs SS Classroom.

Food items and money donations are needed for Mission Team. There are sign-up sheets in the vestibule, Adult Sunday School Classes and on the table beside the water fountain downstairs. Please sign up and have all non-perishable items brought by Sunday, May 31. Perishable items need to be brought by Wednesday, June 10. Money donations may be given to Ginger or Janie.

Rev. and Mrs. Addis and the entire church family extends Christian love and sympathy to the Roger Banks family in the death of Roger’s father, Clifton Banks.
