Bulletin: Week of January 19, 2014

We have received $5,568.85 for our Lottie Moon Christmas Offering exceeding our $5500 goal. Thank you for giving and praying for our International Missionaries.

Students and Parents, Centrifuge Carson Newman will be on July 21-26. The total cost for those connected to the youth ministry will be $150. Remaining $25 of the deposit is due today. Any church members interested in donating and helping the youth with centrifuge deposits can see Austin or Karen.

Children’s choir practice today; will meet in the BIG Sunday School room downstairs and all practices will be from 5:30 to 6:30 pm and snacks from 6:30 to 6:45 pm. If you or a family member would like to provide snacks to the children’s choir, please see Jena Hughes or Faith Addis.

Finance Team meeting today at 5 pm in Young Married Classroom.

2013 contribution statements can be picked up on the table in the sanctuary vestibule. Reminder: These statements are generated from tithes/offerings submitted in envelopes.

Flora Ann group will meet in the Fellowship Hall on Jan. 28 at 7 pm.

All adult volunteers for Alpha and Omega Monday, please join Austin for a quick meeting after Sunday night service in the sanctuary to talk about the plan for Monday.

Youth are having an Alpha Omega Monday on January 20th beginning at 10 am and ending at 7 pm. At 6 pm we are asking all parents of youth to join us for an informative youth ministry sponsored supper in the fellowship hall. Please let Austin know you are coming by e-mail or by signing up in the entrance.

On January 20th the Food Pantry Team will be packing boxes in FLC for food distribution. January 23 will be open food pantry in the FLC from 10 am until 11:30 am.

The church approved the name change for our Brotherhood. They are now “Baptist Men On Mission.”

Registration for Camp Marietta will be sent in on January 27, 2014. The December and January deposits ($40 total) must be paid before a child can be registered . See Olivia with any questions.

Food Pantry needs: canned vegetables, canned meats and canned fruits

We will be celebrating Baptist Men’s Day the last week of January, starting with a spaghetti dinner on Saturday, January 25 at 6 pm. All men and their wives are invited. We would also like to invite all widows in the church to be our special guests. A sign-up sheet is located in the front of the church. There will be no charge for the dinner, but a love offering will be taken to help cover the cost of the food. We will continue on Sunday, January 26 with guest speakers in all services and other treats, so please plan to attend and help us support our Brotherhood.

Calling all men! Men’s choir next week! Sunday, January 26, all singing men meet in choir room immediately following Bible Study.

February 7, Youth Ministry Team will be taking students to Winter Jam at the Bon Secours Arena in Greenville. We will meet at the church to leave at 4 pm after school.
YAH Valentine and Bingo Party will be held on Feb. 15 in the fellowship building at 5 pm. Cost is $5 per person. Last day to sign up is Feb. 9th on the YAH bulletin board.

On February 23, the youth will have a party after the PM Service.

This year’s Winter Bible Study is the book of Colossians, “Christ is all you need.” We will need seven teachers for Wednesday nights. Sign-up sheet in vestibule. Starts February 12th.

March 29, the youth ministry will be going to gravitopia and doing other activities.

Dr. and Mrs. Addis and the entire church family extend Christian love and sympathy to Denise Cook and family in the death of her father, Claude Vaughn.
