Bulletin: Week of 09/14/2008

We will be receiving our Janie Chapman Offering for State Missions this morning. Our church goal is $1500.


Blood pressure check after both morning worship services.


AWANA starts this Wednesday at 6:30 pm. We still need workers. There will be an AWANA workers’ meeting today at 5:00 pm in the fellowship building.


We will observe the Lord’s Supper, Sept. 21st in the AM Service.


Personnel Team meeting at 5 pm on September 21st in the Young Married SS Classroom.


We will have our regular church conference next Sunday after the evening service.


Acteens: Our meeting will be Saturday, September 20th from 9:00 am till Noon at the church. We will be tie-dying tee shirts. We have plenty of medium adult shirts, but if you need a different size, you will need to purchase one and give it to Ms. Susan by September 14th. We need time to prepare the shirts for dying.


The Flora Ann Group meets in the home of Susan Yates on Tuesday, September 23rd at 7 pm. If you are not involved in a group, we would love to have you join us.


Mexico Mission Team will be serving supper after the evening service on September 21st. Sign up in the vestibule so we will know how much food to prepare. Please support you mission team; we still need $4200 to send our 16 missionaries to Mexico!

Mexico Fundraiser on September 27th. Car wash, yard sale and food. 8am until 1pm.


See You At The Pole Rally at Rock Springs on September 23rd. Youth meet at FBCN to leave at 6 pm. This event is free and there will be supper.


Sept. 27th—Parents Breakfast at 9:30 am. This meeting is for parents of youth and anyone who works with youth.


Men’s (and boys’) night, Sept. 29th at 7pm in the fellowship building. Bluegrass gospel band. Jeremy McCollum on guitar-he is amazing. Menu: country steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, etc., homemade dessert. Sign-up sheet in the vestibule.


Pam Gibson will provide snacks and Martha Baker will provide drinks for Revolution on Wednesday, September 17th.


Young at Heart: If you have signed up for the Lake Jocassee Boat Tour and have not paid, your $15.00 is due.

We received $7,447 last Sunday for the Building Fund. Praise the Lord!


There are sign-up sheets in SS Classes and one in the vestibule for the food assignments for End of Summer Picnic on October 4th at Central Recreation Park. We will eat at 5 pm.


If you would like to have your carpet cleaned by Day’s Carpet Cleaner in Anderson, this company will give a 10% of what you pay to our church. For more information see Austin.

Calling all children in K5 through 6th grade!!! Please join the children’s fellowship as we go visit the residents of Sterling House. We will meet at the church at 9:00 am on Saturday, September 13 for a time of refreshments and crafts. At 10:00 we will go sing and visit with the residents. Please bring a box of tissues or a pair of socks to leave with them. Parents are welcome to go with us or you can pick children up at 11:00 at the church.


The Children’s Church Department needs teachers and helpers for the upcoming church year. The commitment would be teaching or helping one Sunday each month. Teachers use the provided Noah’s Ark curriculum binder for lessons and activities. Helpers assist in classroom management, crafts and bathroom breaks. There are openings in the younger class (3-5 year olds) for the 3rd and 4th Sundays. Please sign up in the vestibule or see Stephanie Thomas or Shelia Walters.


If you have pictures to put in the church directory activity pages, please e-mail them to cindylodge@bellsouth.net ASAP or turn in actual photos in a zip-loc bag with your name on it and give it to Cindy Lodge, Deborah Bracken or Linda Rogers by today. We need your pictures!


Our next newsletter will be mailed out September 23rd. This will be our October newsletter. If you have information to be in the newsletter, please have it in the church office no later than Monday morning, Sept. 22nd.
