Bulletin: week of 6-17-2007

The Revolution (former Fusion) parents who have calendars for food will not need to bring anything during the summer. We will have a new calendar beginning the first Wednesday night in September.

Flora Ann Group will meet Tuesday, June 26th at the home of Kat Albertson at 7 pm.

We will have church conference tonight after the evening service.

Today after the 11:00 am service, we will need to have a meeting concerning Centrifuge. Please remember to have your medical insurance cards with you. We will need to complete the medical forms and have them notarized. Parents and students attend.

Revolution will be at 7:00 pm this Wednesday.

Students: Thursday, June 21, we will be going to see a movie “Curious George.” Meet at the church at 8:45. The movie is at 10. We will be back at the church by 1:00.

Please join us for a Home, Garden and Tool Shower for Austin O’Donald and Meryl Dodd. The entire church family is invited including men and Revolution students on Thursday, June 21 from 6 to 8 pm in the fellowship building. They are registered at Belk and Bed, Bath and Beyond.

Deacons will meet next Sunday June 24th at 5 pm in the Young Married Sunday School Classroom.

WMU Selection Team will meet on Wednesday, June 20th at 6:00 pm in the Spares and Pairs Sunday School Classroom. These are the ones on the team: Kat Albertson, Susan Yates, Becky Harper, Michelle Stancil, Rebecca Platts, June Hunter, Marci Herd and Jane Boggs.

Only the metal chairs and tables from under the steps can be borrowed from the church. You have to get a key from the church office and sign them out.

VBS meeting on June 24th at 5:00 pm in the fellowship building.

Since VBS is coming up soon, the food team will be needing to plan the menu for VBS and buy the food. As in previous years, we are planning to prepare substantial refreshments to help the teachers and staff who do not have time to prepare an evening meal before they come to VBS each night. Last year we had 240 plus people to feed each night. The cost of food for the week was approximately $800. If you could help with the expense this year, please give your money donations to Jane Yates or Ann Holder. Thanks

In WWII, there was an advisor to Prime Minister Churchill who organized a group of people who dropped what they were doing every night at a prescribed hour for one minute to collectively pray for the safety of England, its people and peace. There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in America. If you would like to participate, each evening at 8 pm eastern time, stop whatever you are doing and spend one minute praying for the safety of the United States, our wonderful troops, our citizens and for peace in the world.
