Bulletin: Week of September 12, 2010

Mexico Fundraiser September 18th: Fundraiser will start at 8:00 am; they will serve breakfast, have yard sale, and car wash and from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, they will be serving a hot dog lunch. Support your missionaries by cleaning out your closets!

 

September 26th the Mexico Team will be serving lunch in the fellowship building after the 11:00 AM Worship Service. Menu: Ham or Chicken Tenders, fried okra, pinto beans, sliced tomato, squash and zucchini, cornbread, dessert, sweet or un-sweet tea and water.

 

Dates to remember for youth: October 29-November 2 is the date for the retreat; $30 cost is due October 3rd; July 18th-24th is the date for centrifuge.

 

We need help in AWANA in the following areas:

Cubbies (4 to 5 year olds)

Sparks (Kindergarten)

Truth and Training (3rd thru 6th grades)

Game Time

Van Drivers/Helpers

AWANA starts Wednesday night at 6:30 pm. Please pray for the children and workers.

 

We will be receiving our Janie Chapman Offering September 19th. Our church goal is $1500. The prayer guides and offering envelopes are inserted in today’s bulletins.

 

Flowers for the sanctuary can be placed any Sunday in memory of someone or in honor of special occasions such as anniversaries or birthdays. There is a sign up sheet posted outside the church office. Just indicate the Sunday you would like to provide flowers and who you are honoring. You are responsible for having them in the sanctuary on that Sunday. Ann will get the information from the sign up sheet for the bulletin.

 

On Saturday, September 25, the youth will be going to the Rodeo in Clemson. We are meeting at the church facility at 5:30 pm. The cost is $10 and is due today.

Cheyenne Stancil has had three major surgeries in her short life. It has put a financial bind on Robert and Michelle Stancil. We will receive a love offering for them in the morning services.

 

There will be a church-wide baby shower for Austin and Meryl O’Donald, September 14th in the fellowship hall from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm. They are registered at Babies-R-Us and Wal-Mart. They are having a girl.

 

Attention all wMu Ladies. Our church will be hosting the Fall wMu Training on September 16, 2010. This will be held in the fellowship building from 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm. We need assistance with food preparation, serving, class participation and nursery/child care. Please contact Becky or Michelle for details.

 

Dorcas Group will meet in the Flora Garrett Classroom on Monday, September 13th at 4:30 pm.

 

Flora Ann Group will meet in the home of Rebecca Platts at 7:00 pm on September 21st.

 

Sherry Kelley Group will meet Thursday, September 30th at 6:30 pm at Fiesta in Liberty. Any questions, see Michelle or Denise.

 

Bible Study fellowship in the fellowship hall, September 19th at 10:00 am. Josh Addis will be teaching.

 

Church Council meeting September 19th at 5:00 pm in the Spares and Pairs Classroom.

 

Tuesday, September 21, the youth will be going to a “See You at the Pole” rally in Liberty; meet here at the church at 6:30 pm.

 

We have received $3752.34 toward our $4,000 goal to build our 10th church in Mexico, “Fulfilling the Vision.”

 

Golf tournament at Pickens Country Club starting at 1:30 pm. $50 per person or $200 for four person team. Lunch is included for registered golfers. Sign up in the vestibule. Teams and volunteers needed! Money will go to the New Family Life Center.

 

The Piedmont Baptist Associational Revival is September 26-29th. We will be joining them Monday through Wednesday at Rock Springs Baptist Church. Herb Reavis from First Baptist Church of Jacksonville will be preaching Monday and Tuesday. Junior Hill will be preaching on Wednesday night. Pre-service music will start at 6:45 pm. If you would like to serve in the nursery, pre-school children or usher, see the pastor. If you would like to be a counselor, upcoming training is September 13th or September 14th. We need counselors from our church. Pray about going.

 

Ladies of all ages, if you are interested in a time of fellowship, spiritual growth and learning to live in a healthy way, the First Place 4 Health Bible Study is for you. If you are interested in joining this exciting, life-changing program, please sign up in the vestibule. The sign-up sheet is just to let us know you might want to participate-it does not commit you in any way. Once we see how many are interested, we will plan a meeting to go over the details. Everyone make plans to eat at Mutt’s BBQ in Easley, September the 7th. Josiah, Anna, Julie Beth, Lydia, Brianna, Hannah, Holly and Josh, who will be serving, need to meet at the church at 4:15 pm.

 

Today, youth and parents need to meet after either morning services to hear about the new calendar fundraiser for next year’s Centrifuge summer camp.

 

Mark the dates for youth events: Fall retreat is October 29-November 1; Centrifuge is July 18-July 24. Make sure you clear your calendar to attend these great events.
