AWANA clubbers will be taking up donations for “Country Santa” for their monthly mission project. Church members are welcome to bring in items for this as well if you would like. The donation boxes will be in the old vestibule and in the downstairs hallway.

Saturday, January 15th, Children’s Fellowship will be going to the Greenville Pavilion for ice skating or bouncy house fun! More details to come later. Please join us for both these exciting events! See Karen Kimble or Suzanne Merck with any questions.

 

December Newsletter will be completed on November 30th. Please have all your information for the month of December in the church office by tomorrow morning.

 

Mexico Mission Team will give their report to the church next Sunday night in the evening service. Please wear your team shirts.

 

Wednesday, December 15th: Youth Christmas Party

 

Once again the youth will be handling Christmas cards. Bring your cards for church members and let the youth deliver them. Every penny will go to help International Missions. We ask for a minimum donation of 20 cents per card.

 

Dorcas Group will meet in the Flora Garrett Classroom on Monday, December 13th at 4:30 pm.

 

Alice Johnson Group will meet at Hunters Glenn Clubhouse on Tuesday, December 14th at 6:30 pm for our Christmas Party.

 

Flora Ann Group will meet Tuesday night, December 14th at 7:00 pm in the home of Cindy Washburn.

 

Sherry Kelley Group will meet in the fellowship building, December 16th at 6:30 pm. Please bring a dessert or snack item to share with everyone. Drinks will be provided.

 

A reminder: Please save and bring “Box Tops for Education” to church and place them in the box with white lid that is located in the old vestibule.

 

“Daily Walkin’ With Patsy” will be held at the Seneca High School Auditorium, December 11, 2010. Doors open at 7:00 pm, program to begin at 8:00 pm. Ticket prices: at the door-$12 per person, children under 10 years (free admission); tickets purchased in advance-couples $18 and individual-$10; group rates purchased in advance-group of 10 or more, tickets will be $8 per person. Please call 1-877-494-3175 for advance ticket purchases.

Please bring non-perishable items for the food banks and proceeds at the door will be distributed back into the food banks.

Congratulations to our Medical Team. They won the Stain Glass Award from the Baptist Hospital Easley. This is their seventh year to win this award.

 

Joyful Noise Entertainment Group, 96.3 WGOG, along with a local production of “Daily Walkin’ With Patsy” are asking that we all come together and help those in need. We are excited to give all of you the opportunity to come and make this event the largest food bank drive in Oconee County.

The Young at Heart Team had Patsy Cline (Carol Glass, winner of the Patsy Cline sing-alike contest at the old home place of Patsy Cline, Labor Day weekend) perform here on two occasions in previous years. She is great!

Remember tonight’s special, “We love the youth night!” The youth will share with us in song during our PM Service. After this special service, the youth and their parents are invited to go to the basement of the fellowship hall for a camp fire and Smores…Austin has some information to give to all the parents.

Thanksgiving service next Sunday night at Cateechee Baptist Church. We have been asked to bring the desserts. Faith and Cateechee will furnish soup, etc. We will eat at 5 pm and the service will start at 6 pm with the Melodyaires leading us in worship. Don’t miss this opportunity of fellowship and worship with our brothers and sister in Christ.

 

No Wednesday service on November 24th. The church office will be closed Thursday, Thanksgiving Day.

 

Faye Stancil and Pat Thomas will co-host the Flora Ann Group meeting on Tuesday night, November 16th at 7:00 pm. The meeting will be at Faye’s house.

Children of the church – Mark your calendars for the following dates: Saturday, November 13th, the Children’s Fellowship will be going to Niven’s Farm in Moore, SC for a day of fall fun! We will go on a hayride, pick a pumpkin, mine for gems and have a picnic. The vans will leave the church at 9:00 am and will return at 3 pm. The cost is $5 per child. Please sign up in the vestibule or downstairs. Last day to sign up.

Kerry Avery will be having a Concealed Weapons Class on November 13th. Anyone interested, please see Kerry.

 

Youth, November 14th will be a special “We love the Youth” Sunday night. After the PM Service, we will be having Smores and hanging out in the fellowship building. Parents be sure you receive some materials from Austin on this night.

Please note changes: Combined Thanksgiving Service with First Baptist, Norris; Faith Baptist and Cateechee Baptist on November 21st. We will be meeting at Cateechee Baptist Church. We will eat at 5:00 pm with the service starting at 6 pm. They have asked our church to bring desserts. The other two churches will furnish the soup, cornbread, etc.

 

Thursday, November 11th is Veteran’s Day. Heartfelt thanks goes to all of the men and women who served in the military in the past, and we thank those who are presently serving our country. Remember our service men and women in prayer for their safety and well-being. Pray especially for our own, Steven Nix and Barbara Melton.
