We will be receiving our offering for World Hunger Relief this morning. No matter how little or how much you can spare this year, remember that you are blessed to be a blessing. God gives us all we need to feed His world. Whatever you can give to World Hunger Relief, God will use it. With God, little things are never small. Over 23,000 people die of hunger-related causes every day. Our “small sacrifices” pay “big dividends” for world hunger. 100 percent of every dollar you give to SCBC’s World Hunger Relief goes to feed a hungry person. Give with joy.

When Trouble Comes

Have you noticed that things often seem to fall apart all at once? It could be a string of financial setbacks. First the refrigerator goes out, then the car won’t start and next the roof starts leaking. Or maybe our relationships break down or our career unravels.

What can we do when hardships threaten to overwhelm us? Peanuts character Charlie Brown said, “I only dread one day at a time.” But we can do better than that.

We can take a deep breath, cling to God’s hand and keep walking, knowing that our heavenly Father is always with us.

“For he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee” (Hebrews 13:5 KJ)

Living for Jesus, Bro. Royce

Thank You Notes

To the Family of God of First Baptist Church, Norris,

Ron and our family want to thank each of you for the food and prayers during these times. We know Lona, the one we love dearly, will never leave us. She lives within our hearts. I like the saying, “That a rainbow follows the rain, that sunshine outshines clouds, that God understands our every need.” Just believe and have hope in Him.

At times, life’s path seems filled with things that make the going rough, and we wish there was a smoother road, for we feel we’ve had enough. But, again, God is in control and we know we are not alone. (What a great message by Emily Matthews)

Love all of you, Ron & Carolyn

Church Family,

Thank you for all the cards, thoughts, prayers and beautiful flowers.

Mother loved her church, her pastor and church family. She wanted to be there more than she was able. Know that you were always in her thoughts and prayers. Love, The Velma Garrett Walters family

First Baptist Church, Norris,

Thank you so much for the delicious meal at Sue’s home after the funeral. This gave us an opportunity to visit with family members that we seldom get to see. It’s usually at a funeral. The ladies were so sweet to serve us and clean up after us. The food was just awesome. Norris Baptist has some really great cooks.

It was difficult to give up Sue Coffey. We can only hold on to those wonderful memories we had here on earth. We know she “has a new body.” She no longer suffers.

Thank you to everyone that had a part in the service for Sue Coffey’s homegoing. First Baptist Norris has meant so much to Jack and Sue Coffey and their children and grandchildren. Clarence and Bonita Coffey

Dear Church,

Thank you for the cards, calls and especially your prayers while I was recovering from surgery. I am so blessed to be a part of a loving and caring church. To God be the glory as His name is lifted up. Love in Christ, Ginger
